  • DAY 1 – BUCHAREST

    Arrival in Bucharest and accommodation at Grand Hotel Continental or similar. The hotel was  built in 1886 in the German Renaissance style. Dinner will be served at Manuc’s Inn , The Last Caravanserai built in Europe in 1806, by Manuc Bey, one of the richest landlords in the Balkans area. The Inn has been a symbol of a joyful urban lifestyle ever since.
  • DAY 2 – BRAN

    Departure from Bucharest – via Ploiesti – Sinaia. The tourists will visit the Peles Castle, a genuine piece of architectural jewelry, which was built as of f 1875 at the initiative of Carol I, the first King of Romania. The route continues towards the Bran Castle, which was built on the former area of the Teutonic Knights, offered to Queen Marie of Romania by the merchants of Brasov. The castle became afterwards the summer residence of the royal family. Accommodation and dinner will offered at Brandenberg Pension or similar, an authentic Romanian resort, built in the early-twentieth century.
  • DAY 3 – MICLOSOARA

    Departure to Brasov, a city fortress which dates from 1203 as an old commercial and cultural center, located at the crossroads between the Ottoman Empire and Western Europe. Here one may visit the Black Church, also known in the early days as “the biggest church between Vienna and Constantinople”. The next points of attraction will be The Council Square and the first Romanian School. Accommodation will be provided in Miclosoara at Transylvanian Castle, a Saxon village which became famous after Prince Charles and Count Kalnoky have renovated the old traditional households. Kalnoky Castle dates from the late sixteenth century and was introduced in the touristic circuit after its rehabilitation in 1990.
  • DAY 4 – ZABOLA

    Circuit Miclosoara – Miercurea Ciuc – Mikes Castle of Zabola. The Castle is located in the middle of a vintage landscape which transports the visitors into the atmosphere of 1900’s. Amongst other attractions, visitors can enjoy unique experiences like riding in a horse-drawn carriage and having dinner and accomodation at the beautiful castle or similar.
  • DAY 5 – CUND

    Miercurea Ciuc – Sighisoara – the Tour of the fortress built by the Saxons at beginning of the 12the century, which will introduce the tourists in a fairy tale atmosphere filled with princesses, knights and the controversial Vlad The Impaler. Points of attraction during the walking tour: The Clock Tower, built in fourteenth century over a pattern of Prague towers, The Church on the Hill, The Stairs Passage. After the tour the visitors will savour a beverage in The Blacksmith’s House (Casa Cositorarului) cafe, whose interior reminds everyone of the old mansions. Accommodation will be provided at The Green Valley Retreat or similar, a resort that reminds the tourists about The Brothers Grimm’s tales, situated in Cund village.
  • DAY 6 – OGRA

    Circuit Sighisoara – Targu Mures. There will be a walking city tour in Targu Mures, town that was firstly mentioned in the 14th century as the well-known nucleus of the Hungarian population in Romania. The attractions of this are: The Medieval Fortress, dating from the 15th-16th centuries and built in a pentagonal shape, guarded by seven defense towers. Rakoczi stairs, decorated with folk motifs in 2014, which are considered some of the most beautiful stairs, thus obtaining the first place in the world. The Palace of Culture in Targu Mures is the most beautiful building in Belle Epoque style from Transylvania, remarkable for its outdoor mosaics, stained glass and numerous bronze statues. Accommodation will be arranged at Haller Castle or similar – the former residence of the Haller family, built in the post-Baroque style in the eighteenth and nineteenth century, nationalized afterwards in 1949. After the handover, the castle was sold to Foris family, its current landlords. The Haller family came from Nuremberg and eventually settled down in Transylvania in the seventeenth century.
  • DAY 7 – HUNEDOARA

    Circuit Targu Mures – Turda. The visit at Turda Salt Mine is a unique experience, as the mines exploitation are dating from the Pre-Roman ages. During the Austro-Hungarian domination, the exploitation of the salt mines was carved in a bell-shaped gallery, which currently offers an outerworly landscape. As a result of an investment of 6 million euros, the salt mine was modernized with an amphitheater, a modern elevator and a wheel which was specially designed as to allow the visitors to admire the salt stalactites. Inside there is also a lake with a pier on which the visitors can rent boats. The route continues to the city of Alba Iulia. Formerly known as Alba Carolina Citadel, this city houses a fortress built in Vauban style. At the beginning of the 17th century The Habsburg Empire built this citadel as a defense bastion against Ottoman invasions. The initiator of the construction was Prince Eugene of Savoya, who was considered the eminence of the Habsburg Empire. In the fortress, the visitors can admire The Cathedral of King Ferdinand and Queen Maria”s coronation, built in the Byzantine style shaped like a Greek cross. Accommodation will be provided at Archia Manor or similar. This house belongs to the family of contemporary landowners, the Szabos, who managed to transform this house in a place where tradition and modernity are perfectly intertwined. The tourists  will have the chance to unwind in an oasis of tranquility, to experience horse ridings and enjoy the gastronomic bio products.
  • DAY 8 – HOREZU

    Hunedoara – Visit of Hunyadi Castle, one of the most important monuments of the Gothic architectural style in Europe, located in Top 10 “destinations in fairytale Europe”. The castle was built in the fifteenth century by Iancu of Hunedoara and is distinguished by its spectacular towers and a fountain with a depth of 30 meters. Due to its historical appearance, the castle was often used as a location for numerous historical movies. The route continues through the spectacular gorge, carved by the river Jiu, between Parang and Valcan Mountains. Because of its unicity the area was declared a National Park. Accommodation will be provide at the Maldar Mansion or similar, where visitors can enjoy the manorial charm of Oltenia. It is arranged in a typical southern Romanian house, which goes under the name of “cula”. These fortified old houses are specific of the Balkan Peninsula, with the role of defense against attacks of Turks and outlaws.
  • DAY 9 – URLATI

    Conacul dintre vii” (The Mansion between the Wineries) or similar – Mansion Among the Vineyards is arranged in a famous viticultural area of Romania, in the nineteenth century, where the tourists can admire the traditional local carved wooden furniture and hand woven carpets from historical province of Wallachia. As the Romanian tour is about to come to an end, one cannot leave without attending a wine tasting in the cellars situated on the “wine route”. The award-winning wineries worldwide are named Budureasca and La Certa Cellars. Not coincidentally, the labels of the bottles Budureasca features Burebista” head, The first King of the free Dacians, which reminds us of the first plantation of winery in the present territory of Romania.
