  • DAY 1 – BUCHAREST

    Arrival in Bucharest. Walking tour in The Old City, Calea Victoriei, The Village Museum. Accommodation will be provided in Bucharest at Grand Hotel Continental or similar.
  • DAY 2 – SIBIU

    Bucharest – Sibiu. Accommodation will be provided in Sibiu at Continental Forum Hotel or similar. City walking tour including The Grand Square (Piata Mare), The Lesser Square (Piata Mica), The Council Tower (Turnul Sfatului), Brukenthal Museum, The Bridge of Lies (Podul Minciunilor), The Evangelical Church (Biserica Evanghelica). There will be a visit at The Astra Museum of Folkloric Traditional Civilization (Muzeul Tehnicii Populare Astra) which houses Romanian traditional households. Astra is the largest open-air museum in Europe and the second largest in the world, where one can also visit the gorgeous and stunningly preserved old town of Sibiu.
  • DAY 3 – ARIESENI

    Visit at The Glass Painted Icons from Sibiel and one can attend the paiting workshop. The tourists will enjoy learning the icon painting technique that was introduced in Transilvania due to habsburgic occupation. Glass painting was done by the peasants with no occupation who were expressing their faith by painting these icons. The colors were obtained from natural materials such as animal fat, eggs and oil. The tour continues towards Brad where the tourists will visit The Museum of Gold (Muzeul Aurului), a unique place in Europe which houses almost 1300 exhibits. The museum artifacts certifies that the mining of gold has been a trade in Apuseni Mountains that began 2000 years ago. There will two nights accommodation provided in Arieseni at Steaua Ariesului or similar.
  • DAY 4 – ARIESENI

    Tour visit of the villages from Apuseni Mountains, where the locals call themselves ”moti”, people whose main traditional occupation is wood processing. The tourists will also visit authentic households and attending live wood processing activities. They can participate in the making of various wooden tools and blowing instruments like the so called ”buciume” and ”tulnice”. These traditional instruments have a strange shape and are 1,3-3m long. Another attraction will be learning the preparation of a traditional pie, cooked on a stone plate.
  • DAY 5 – VISEUL DE SUS

    Arieseni – Turda. Accomodation will be provided in Borsa at Roman Hotel or similar. Visit at the Turda Salt Mine. The salt exploitation began in the Roman period and flourished during the habsburgic occupation. The tour continues towards Maramures area, where the tourists will have accomodation for three night. Situated in the Northern Romania, Maramures is the ethno geographical area that preserves best the Romanian traditions.
  • DAY 6 – VISEUL DE SUS

    After enjoying a homemade traditional breakfast the tourists will take a sightseeing tour in Maramures, exploring the local attractions: The Merry Cemetery of Sapanta, famous for its colourful tombstones with naïve paintings describing, in an original and poetic manner, the people who are buried there as well as scenes from their lives. The Merry Cemetery became an open-air museum and a national tourist attraction. Sapanta Peri Church with the highest wooden tower in Europe, Barsana Monastery , a heavenly place, being one of eight Wooden Churches of Maramures listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • DAY 7 – VISEUL DE SUS

    Ride with „Mocanita” on the Vaser River Valley – 60 km. Mocanita is a narrow-gauge railway built for cargo and passenger services – some in the era of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The tourists will then visit the beautiful traditional households and the wood carving workshops. The wood carving has a long tradition among Maramures peoples’ occupations, thus making them proud of their unique craft. The Wooden Gates carved here are worldwide famous for the richness of their ornaments symbolizing important moments in humans life.
  • DAY 8 – VISCRI

    Baia Mare – Sighisoara circuit. Walking tour through the largest medieval city in Europe, Sighisoara, a still-inhabited citadel, well-known for its Clock Tower (Turnul cu Ceas), The Coered Stairway (Pasajul Scarilor), The Church on the Hill (Biserica din deal), The Guilds’s Towers (Turnurile breslelor), „Casa Cositorarului”, The Evangelical Church (Biserica Evanghelica) and The City Council. The visitors will attend a garden ceramics workshop, learning to model clay as to obtain different decorative objects. This workshop is unique in Romania and is also one of the most spectacular in Europe, because it still uses the old traditional modeling technique. The accommodation will be provided in Viscri or similar.
  • DAY 9 – BUCHAREST

    Sighisoara – Bucharest circuit. The tourists will visit the historical city center of Brasov, the largest city in the Romanian mountains area. The walking tour will target attractions like: The Black Church (Biserica Neagra), The First Romanian School (Prima Scoala Romaneasca), The Council Square (Piata Sfatului), the old entrance gates of the city, The String Street (Strada Sforii) – one of the narrowest streets in Europe. Airport transfer.
